IF YOU ARE NEW TO LOADING MOBILE GAMES OR ARE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS...

1) Make sure that the game you have ordered is compatible with your handset. Supported handsets are listed for each game. Please make sure you have a compatible handset before purchasing any games. If your phone is not shown in the list - the game will not work. If your handset is not shown as compatible, email us at : help@thumbtribe.co.za to find out if your handset has recently been added.
2) If you haven't received the SMS containing the game URL to your phone within 5 minutes of sending it, please ensure that you have typed the sms correctly and sent it to the correct number OR contact support on help@thumbtribe.co.za
3)For R40 and R50 GAMES - send the initial sms to the number stated on the webpage - you will get a return SMS within a few minutes confirming your order. You need to reply to the number to the number stated in the sms in order to load the game.
4) Before you load the game, phone your service provider and ask them to DATA & FAX ENABLE your SIM CARD as well as PROVISION you for GPRS or WAP. Once you have done this, ensure that you have the latest GPRS SETTINGS for your phone by doing the following:

WARNING: DATA AND FAX ENABLING YOUR SIM CARD MAY TAKE UP TO 24 HOURS TO BE ACTIVATED, DEPENDING ON YOUR OPERATOR. YOU CAN'T DOWNLOAD A GAME UNTIL YOUR SIM CARD HAS BEEN FAX AND DATA ENABLED AND YOU HAVE WAP SETTINGS SAVED TO YOUR PHONE.

Make sure you have the latest WAP/GPRS settings. We recommend all contract subscribers use GPRS as it is faster and cheaper. For Pre-Paid customers we recommend ordering WAP settings.
5) Make sure that you have a strong GPRS signal when loading the game. This is not related to the strength of your phone signal. If you are battling to connect (eg data bearer not available or your connection is timing out), ensure you have the latest GPRS/WAP settings and try connecting in a different area.
6) For SAMSUNG phones you will need to go to your FUNBOX, wwwservices and look for push messages.
7) The games take approximately 5 minutes to download. The length of time can vary in either direction.
8) INVALID FILE error - edit your service settings and ensure that SESSION MODE is set to PERMANENT or order new GPRS settings by following the instructions above.
9) If your phone says "MEMORY FULL" or "MEMORY LOW, MARK ITEMS TO ERASE" or "NOT ENOUGH MEMORY AVAILABLE", this indicates that your phone has insufficient room to store the Java game you wish to download. You will need to delete some games or other content from your phone. Please refer to the manual that came with your handset. Once the game/s is deleted you may not be able to retrieve or download that game - refer to the terms associated with where you purchased/downloaded that game.
10) If you can't find the game after you have successfully downloaded it, turn the phone off and on again. Look in your applications/games folder or in the main menu.
11) Please exit the game properly once you have finished playing, otherwise it will run in the background. If you are not sure if you have exited the game properly, press and hold down the "menu" key for a few seconds. A list of running applications will be displayed.
12) Ensure that your phone is set up to receive PUSH MESSAGES by going through the menu options on your phone - this is directed mainly at Sony Ericsson customers.

IS THERE A PER USAGE FEE FOR WAP?

When you access the WAP service, you will be billed for the call by your service provider in the same way as any other call. There is no other charge. NOTE: It's much better and cheaper for you to use GPRS than DATA (or dialup)

AN EXAMPLE OF HOW TO LOAD A GAME


SMS the code to 40978.
Because this is a R50 game you will get a reply message asking to confirm the order by sending the same message to 42978. So you would type:

12345

and SMS this to 42978.


You would then receive a game message. This is sent as a push message or a service message and will not be found in your normal message inbox. For Nokia phones it will appear in your SERVICE, SERVICE INBOX. For Samsung phones you will need to go to your FUNBOX, wwwservices and look for push messages. For Motorola and Sony Ericsson this message will arrive as a push message in your push message inbox.

Click on the GAME MESSAGE or GAME URL and load the game. As long as you have a strong signal and are set up for GPRS/WAP - the game will load in a matter of a few minutes. Once it is loaded there is no extra charge - play it as often as you like.

For R20 and R30 games only send 1 SMS - any problems contact help@thumbtribe.co.za
For R40 games you send 2 SMS messages to 40978. Only send the second SMS, once you have received a reply from the first - any problems contact help@thumbtribe.co.za
For R50 games you send 1 SMS to 40978 and when prompted by the return SMS, send a new sms to 42978 - any problems contact help@thumbtribe.co.za
